Since, the Space Race or even before the human race have gazed upon the stars, we have always wondered what is really out there in the vast boundless area of of the universe. The moon landing was the biggest leap for mankind. Although, it was shadowed with controversies, as to we ever did step on the moon. Getting there was the first step and going back with "presents" is the most successful thing.

After a seven year journey, the Japanese made satellite, Hayabusa, has finally come home. Launched in May 2003 to land and get samples from Itokawa, a potato shaped asteroid. The $200 million Asteroid Chaser had traveled 2.5 billion miles, collects dust and hope to return home with the collected samples on a 3.53 containers it carries & the best part is, melt into the earth sky during its re-entry and hopes that it releases the capsule containing the expected samples.

How To: Remove Google Background Image

It was a surprise that Google adopted the search customization. Maybe just got tired with the White page background and opted to what, Microsoft's, b had done. With Bing, it was good to see. But, with Google it's not that pleasing. It's more like of annoying.

Getting your Google Search Page background changed is very easy. There's a "Change Background Image" that you will find on the lower left of your Google search page. A simple click and you may render from various themes from Google or you can upload Photos from your PC. Of course, you first have to log-in to your Google account.

Movies: '80s re-configured.

Recent movies produced recently were indeed a hit and spectacular. Big production, great actors and stunning visual effects. From the trailers and previews, it doesn't fail to wow us. Well, most of them. Most of all love the movies. It's an affordable mode for recreation other than vices. In spite of a tight budget, we just can't let a good movie pass us by.

But, haven't you notice, most of the movies we have lately are blast from the past. You may not notice it, for you may not feel like 'DejaVu'. Were not being "time zapped into the past. But, the main point is, do we have any fresh writers today or any other screen or novel writers out there for a movie franchise? Instead of making new movies, we are relying mostly on remakes. What's making it worse we have 1, 2 or 3 franchise for that same movie, a Trilogy in other words.

Movies: Splice, the dark side of genetic engineering

Two Genetic Engineers on an unauthorized experiment, by introducing Human DNA into a new animal species. God-like it may seem. But, the two are about to discover, that their creation is turning into something that is not we thought of to be.

Humans as we are, and the boundaries of our knowledge and the thirst for deeper meaning of things could really bring us enlightenment and sometimes, worst, left us falling into the deeps of destruction and nothingness. The movie had already been released, and though I haven't seen it, the trailer depicts the plot of the story. You know a great experiment gone wild.

A discovery that made them superstars and a creation that turns into something that are not prepared for. It is a film that cautions us that we can go somewhere but that somewhere could be a disaster.

Apple: iPhone 4G conked out?

Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, finally unveiled the iPhone 4G. The of the iPhone family which features video chat and HD screen. It was a thrilling occasion, just as always Jobs' does, with a just a little problem. What would you fell if you have been left out on a stage, alone, with a big blank web page on the background? Steve Jobs is known for wowing the crowd. Oh well, he did it again. But, with a wow in a down stroke.

Supposedly, in the launching, he's using the iPhone in Web Browsing. Of no avail, the show-off act failed. When he is about to unveil, the screen conked out and all the crowd got was a big blank Web Page. Well, I guess, it is in HD (perhaps).iPhone is a fine device. With the iPhone 4G coming into the shelves, now we can enjoy HD movies on it. But, at least Jobs and his team could make it right when they presented it.

Cars: Chrysler, voluntary recall for 600,000 jeeps and minivans

Chrysler, recently confirmed the recall of 683,000 Wrangler Jeeps and minivans. The voluntary recall is due to the brake-line and power sliding door issues. Previously, Toyota, suffered much over the "sticky accelerator" pedal with some reported road accident due to that failure.

Now, Chrysler is stepping ahead by informing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration about the recall. Though, there have been any related road accidents prior the recall, Chrysler just announced over a potential failures discovered on 2007~2010 Jeep Wranglers and 2008~2009 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans.

The potential failures for the Jeep Wranglers, is that, the brake line could come in contact with the inner-fender lining. That could lead to reduce braking performance over time. While for the minivans, an interior wiring could come in contact with the sliding power door and thus could result to short circuit which could also lead to fire.

Internet Security: Adobe's Flash, reader loophole exploited

This was an update that was released last Friday. Reportedly, Adobe's Flash reader, vulnerabilities, were exploited by Cyber attackers and left the latest version of its player, the 10.0.45.2. If it does affects the latest version, so as the older versions of Windows, Mac, Linux and Solaris media players.

Also vulnerable: PDF viewer Adobe Reader 9.x and PDF creation software Adobe Acrobat 9.x on Windows, Macintosh and Unix.

According to Secunia, a Danish bug tracker, the latest threat is extremely critical. A critical threat indeed, that, it made the US computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) on the alert and posted security warnings for the threat.

Sounds Alarming but it is that really a critical mess that these attackers have discovered within Adobe's Flash Shell?

According to Jobs, iPad is Magical. But Ballmer says it's a just another PC

Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO, countered the idea, that, the era of PC is waning. Maybe he can't sleep over the idea, a PC being a big old farm truck. That carries nothing but stacks of hay. Compared to the automatic and sophisticated cars in the city, Steve Jobs could mean that the PC has no longer a place in the current technology trend.

But, Steve Ballmer says otherwise. The iPad is just another PC with a different form factor. What the Apple did with the b was indeed magical. But then, at the end of the day, users send e-mails, surf the web and create documents in a PC. PC's are not created equal. With the iPad's limited functionality, it just can't do as much as a PC does and not everbody could afford it.

Shrek themed Glasses Pose Danger to Kids

Shrek Forever After debuted last May 21. The animated comedy features the voice of Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, Antonio Bandera as Puss in Boots and the voice of Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona. The Ogre was cute and so are the Fairy Tale Characters on that movie. But, wait, let’s not get carried away.

It was good movie and I guess a nice treat for your kids. Yet, this latest news may not sound GP to you. McDonald's, the burger giant, had to recall 12 million of Shrek themed glasses. It was recalled due to cadmium content, discovered, on the painted design.

Oh no, these $2 - 16 ounce drinking glasses are really not cute. It's pretty cheap, but, not thanks. I don't want to end digesting those Cadmium content, especially to my kids.

The symptom is intermittent, actually, and I will share to you a clever tweaks or repair that have I done to similar defect. The root cause with such defect actually is a worn out rotary scroll wheel axle socket. The fittings were already “lossy” and the axle cannot grip the socket to drive the rotary switch into motion.

Would Rather Customize Your Google Search Page?

In the Blogspot today, Google announced that users can now let users use background on its minimalist search page. Google search page have been known for its traditional white background. The user has the option to upload their personal photos from their computer or from Google's Picasa Photo album.

It was a good thing though. But, why put user defined background in it. I mean it was better when it is all white and change the Google Icon from time to time. You know, that always thing that Google have done and reflects the season or any special occasion on that particular date.

Users may activate the customized feature by clicking the link located on the lower left corner of the search page. If you can't find it, maybe it's not available in your location as of the moment. According to Google, it will not affect the loading speed of the page and any activities you'll be having on that page.

How to: Simple Remedy of a PC that Randomly Crashes

Just because the Post-PC era is near it doesn't mean that there's no point anymore in taking good care of your PC. As long as it is working, keep it and take good care of it. It's not practical anymore in buying a new one. Not of course, if you are shifting to another PC lifestyle. You know, going to the "mainstream".

This would be the most common problem that PC users are encountering recently. It may sound a major problem that only a certified technician can do it. Well, need to worry for here is a simple and do it yourself remedy for such kind of problem.

There are only two major contributors for your PC to randomly crashes. It could be a software problem. Could be due to virus or you have installed an application which cause your OS to Freeze and unable to process anything. And the second contributor could be a hardware problem. So, let's get to work. All you need is yourself, a couple of screwdrivers and this guide of course.

Post-PC era and Windows for Every Tablet is near

Have you ever wondered if we still have those conventionally PC's we have will still be around for the next 5 to 10 years. Or, would you still buy them at that time. The PC (Personal Computer) I'm referring to is the conventional workstation we have at home and at work. Where in you have the CPU, and its corresponding Peripherals connected by cables and sorts of hardware attaching to it. Doing upgrades and such.

Also, on the same plane, when we speak about PC's we always tagged along with the OS in it. And since its inception, during the 1980's, almost 90% of PC's were using Windows Operating System. Now, with the prediction of evolving the Personal Computing into something else will Windows also dissolve in the decline of conventional PC demand.

Accidents with Google Map? Who should you blame?

I came to ask these questions when I read about a woman filing a lawsuit for google maps incorrect direction. The poor walking directions caused here a permanent physical and mental injuries for she was hit by a vehicle while walking on a dirt road.

According to her complaint, Google had recklessly, carelessly and negligent in providing unsafe directions. Supposedly the road that she have walked on has no sidewalks and with vehicles running at high speeds. Meaning to say, she is using the Google map for guidance and was struck by a vehicle due to lack of warnings from it.
