Photos: Clare Island, Ireland[Bing.com]

The She-King of the Irish seas. The home of the O' Malley's, and famous residence of Grace O' Malley, the Pirate Queen. A mountainous island and approximately 16 sq. km in size. With its geographical location, outside the main land mass of Ireland, it is a perfect haven from a hectic life in the city.

The serene, calm environment and peaceful scenic beauty the island has is glimpse of the history that shaped this little island forever. Some of the famous landmarks are the Clare Island Lighthouse, the Cistercian Abbey and the Granuaile's Castle. With its un-denying beauty, it is indeed the perfect place to get away the busy life in the congested city.

The Clare Island is accessible, daily, through a ferry ride from the Roonagh Pier near Louisburgh. It offers accommodation to tourists and a perfect for those who love to hike and climb mountains. Tourist can also enjoy the island through bike exploration.

I Love to go there. I lived in small island also, but, this one is such a beauty.
