Photos: The Golden Gate Bridge[Bing.com]

This will be the first of my Articles about those themes in Bing.com search page. I find it interesting and at the same time mysterious for the inclusion, of this captions that could leave you asking for, what really is it. So for today, we have The Golden Gate Bridge.

What captures me is the caption on the Search page that asks, "Do you recognize this iconic landmark?" From the view, above photo, it unlikely to be recognized. But, with the Red Color like and the suspension, 90% for sure you'll say it is from San Francisco, The Golden Gate Bridge.

Why it was called the Golden Gate Bridge? It would be a popular question when we spoke about this magnificent structure. Actually, the bride is hanging across the Golden Gate Strait which is the opening to the San Francisco Bay from the Pacific Ocean. The Color by the way is not red, (as usually being perceived), it is "orange vermillion". Also called as the “international orange”, and resembles closely as Gold. Matching also the strait to where it hangs.

It was built in 1937 and became the longest suspension bridge span then. Extending 3 miles long and bears 6 lanes of roads. From the dimensions, it is really a mighty structure and beautiful at the same time. It was known that, City Engineers spent a decade fighting the War Department, labor Unions, railroads and more just to build this magnificent Structure.

There you have it, a little something for your thought. This is not a wikipage, but It will help when you happen to land Bing’s search page.
